What is Remote Desktop?
Remote Desktop allows you to use another computer as if you were sitting in from of it. Everything that would be displayed on the remote computer is displayed on your computer. Remote Desktop is created by Microsoft and it is the industry standard for connecting to computers remotely.

Problem: I can't Remote Desktop to my computer from a certain location.

Cause: Certain corporations, institutions, ISPs, and firewalls block access to all ports except HTTP (port 80) and HTTPS (port 443). This is done to enhance network security. When using these networks you will not be able to Remote Desktop to a host computer since the required port 3389 is blocked.

What do I need to configure on the host computer?
As long as Remote Desktop is configured and working on the host computer it will work with the Remote Desktop Gateway service. There is no need to install anything or change settings.

What do I need to configure on the client computer?
There is no need to install anything on the client computer. When specifying your Remote Desktop connection settings, simply include the RD Anywhere gateway information.
